Variety Israel is an organization that supports and assists sick disabled and handicapped children with special needs, from birth up to the age of 18 years.
The Israeli organization represents one of 55 world-wide branches of Variety, all of which operate towards the same objectives, as each branch serves the children of its community.
Variety Israel (non-profit organization no. 58-000-726-8) was established in 1967 by the late President Haim Herzog, Ruth Dayan, Chaim Topol, the late Meir Weisgal, Danny Angel, Kenny Greidinger and friends with the purpose of assisting thousands of children with special needs in Israel.
Since the establishment of the organization in 1967, Variety Israel has assisted and supported thousands of children without any religious, racial or national discrimination whatsoever.
Variety Israel is a voluntary organization, consisting of 30 Board Members, 5 council members, a Chairman, a President, a Control committee and an Executive Director. The organization has 6 partial salaried employees.

Raising Contributions
Variety Israel initiates and produces various activities, events, projects, telethons and special campaigns such as the “Golden Heart Pin”, through which funds are raised and sponsorships and business cooperations are established.

Designation of Contributions
Variety Israel assists and supports children and youth with special needs up to the age of 18 years, whose problem is not handled by other organizations and institutes, and who have no one to approach. Variety also supplements support to children who do not receive the full necessary assistance from the organizations to which they belong.
This support is given by way of participation in paramedical treatments (occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiotherapy etc.), participation in the financing of rehabilitation equipment (such as wheelchairs, mobile bathing facilities, hearing aids, etc.), dental treatments, orthodontic treatments, professional support and the like.

International Esteem
Variety Israel has gained international esteem and it is among the leading branches in the world. It has also received international awards by virtue of the increase in its welfare activities and raising contributions.

2006/2007 Sponsors:

Reshet Company produces and broadcasts “The Golden Children” telethons, image broadcasts and promos. Yochanan Zangen, Reshet's CEO, is a voluntary board member.
Henry Zimand sponsored the Dream Project, an auction of art works by leading Israeli artists as well as the 2005 Golden Children telethon.
Colmobile Company, Importer of Mercedes Benz contributes an annual sum to support various activities, donating an amount of NIS 300 out of the sale of every family car. The Company sponsored the Dream Project, an auction of art works by Israeli artists.
