DANCING WITH STARS FOR THE GOLDEN CHILDREN
Variety Israel's annual fundraising event, with the courtesy of "Reshet" television network (Channel 2) is the organization's main fundraising source was held for the 10th time this year. Within two hours, we have raised the largest amount we've ever raised, over 2.5 million dollars!

In order to renew, excite and increase the viewing rates, the concept had been changed. For one glamorous evening, as if taken from a fairy-tale, a simple regular hall had been turned into a spectacular and sparkling ballroom.
The most popular TV show for the year 2006, "Dancing with Stars", adopted Variety Israel for A Special.
The best dancers from previous seasons, consisting of movie and TV stars, Misses Israel 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2006, and others have danced for over two hours on the dancing platform to the sounds of the Symphonic orchestra of dozens of musicians.
What a spectacular sight!

Prior to the event, and to invite the members of the Israeli Government, Adv. Ory Slonim- Chairman of Variety Israel, Udi Angel, Chief Barker, Riki Ariel –Executive Director; children of Variety Israel and a couple of dancers drove to Jerusalem, to the Knesset.

During the visit, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Acting President of Israel and Speaker of the Knesset Mrs. Dalia Itzik, Vice Prime Minister Mr. Shimon Peres and other Ministers were glad to meet the wonderful children and even danced a little in the Knesset's corridors.

During the event, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert gave his blessings to the children of Variety Israel and the organization's aims.
Politicians and a variety of personalities from the economic, business, and public sectors joined us for this special event, at beautifully set tables with wine and refreshments in a magical ballroom dancing atmosphere.
Over 1000 donors joined us for an event that has never been seen before on a live TV program - all have come for one purpose – to contribute and support the children of Variety Israel.
Between the dancing acts, very moving stories told by the children were screening. In the screenings the children shared with the audience their daily struggles with their disabilities and how Variety Israel has helped them improve their quality of life.

The Golden Heart Pin Campaign
The Golden Heart pin is the leading campaign for which we are famous, We have sold Golden heart Pins (9 Karat) for 15 consecutive years via marketing network throughout Israel, and is sold at a price of only NIS 10 as a donation.

The pin is designed differently and uniquely each and every year. The 2006/2007 pin is designed in the image of ERAGON, based on the novel.

Taste of the City (“Taam Hair”) – In May - The Food Bazaar
By courtesy of Ha’ir Newspaper, Variety Israel organizes a food stall directed every year by a different well-known Chef.
The 4 days food fair holds at Park Hayarkon, Tel Aviv.
Artists, athletes and celebrities volunteered to sell food products at the stall.


Variety International Convention
Variety International holds its annual traditional convention with the participation of representatives of its 55 branches, members and friends from all over the world.
Each year, a different branch hosts the convention for several days and invites the participants to 'taste' of the city's treasuries.
During the convention, branches report on their achievements of the previous year, exchange impressions and ideas and even holds an award-giving ceremony for achievements in raising contributions, volunteering and press exposure.

For the Children – Events and Supporters
Variety At Work: During the year, Variety Israel initiates various events for the children, indoors, outdoors, sports events, holiday events and cultivating shows-always include a type of activity, refreshments and gifts.

Sport Events – a Tradition of Many Years
The Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv basketball team holds a ceremony before each Euroleague home game in which a child of “Variety” Israel goes on to the field and receives a ball, signed by one of the players.
Chanukah
By courtesy of Hilton Hotel Tel Aviv, we maintain a tradition of many years of lighting Chanukah candles for the “Variety” Israel children, their families, members of the board and celebrities.
The program includes the ceremony of lighting Chanukah candles, a singing group and donuts. Chanukah gifts are contributed by Lafayette Agencies Company.
“Save a Child’s Heart”
Variety Israel, in collaboration with Variety Children’s Lifeline, participates in the funding of cardiac surgeries for 100 children, which are performed in developing countries, by means of medical delegations from the “Save a Child’s Heart” Society. Tents of children have benefited surgeries with the support of Variety Israel.
